DR Eze Alexander, Psychology,Head of Department’s Biography

Federal University Oye—(FUOYE)  Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria welcomed Dr. Alexander Eze its first Head of Department on February 2, 2012. Since assuming the Headship, Dr. Eze has articulated a vision of advancing the Department of Psychology and its community into greater scholarly achievement through teaching, mentorship, collaborative and corporative education system, the rehabilitation of MR/HR and entrepreneurialism. A 25-year veteran of higher education, Dr. Eze has held academic and administrative positions including professor of psychology in the Departments of Psychology at various institutions including: Prairie View A & M University, Prairie View, TX; University of Phoenix, Online; Texas Southern University, Houston, TX; and Houston Community College System, Houston, TX. He also served as Forensic Therapist at Harris County Adult and Juvenile Facilities. Further, he serves as the CEO and Founder of The Word Heals Services for the treatment and rehabilitation of clients with mental health and mental retardation.

At his earlier institutions and facilities, Dr. Eze led initiatives to enhance students’ retention, program offering and to reduce recidivism. He has extensive experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of geriatrics, mental health and mental retardation clients. He is familiar with governance, serving as chair and member of Senate Committees on curriculum, student welfare and behavior committees.      

Dr, Eze completed his Ph.D and MA degrees in psychology at Texas Southern University, Houston, TX , MSc. Degree in Industrial Technology at TSU, Houston, TX and earned his B. ChemE  degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND. He has written extensively and conducted training and seminars in adolescent behavior and management as well as in the general field of behavioral health. 

Dr. Eze is married to U. J. Eze a wound care and rehabilitation nurse and they have three children.
